The Water Keeper by Charles Martin was such an unexpected book, I went into it looking for a Keeper of the river book but found it to be more of an action packed romantic suspense. This was a very mission-impossible style story and I can totally imagine this getting made into a movie starring Liam Neeson or Tom Cruise/5().

Oh my god, this book is exactly what I needed. The drama and the Keeper of the river book are TOO good. Unpredictable; kept me at the edge of my seat. Never thought I'd love and enjoy this so much, such a satisfying book.

Now eleven years later I reread Keeper of the Light, something I seldom do, in anticipation of reading the second book in a trilogy Ms. Chamberlain wrote about the people and area known as Kiss River, located in the Outer Banks.

The Kiss River books are the uncovering of a romantic mystery, decades old but each book is a stand-alone, incorporating the same characters one grows to love, throughout. The only Chamberlain book I couldn't give any more than three stars was "Fire and Rain" which ended abruptly leaving us wondering how it all came out.
